Cardinals Beat Padres 6-2

The St. Louis Cardinals used a strong outing from Luke Weaver to beat the San Diego Padres 6-2 on Wednesday night. With the loss the Padres have loss four out of the las six games.

For San Diego Jhoulys Chacin got the start. He pitched 4.2 innings allowing 6 hits, 5 runs 4 of them earned. He walked 3 and struck out 3 as well.

On the other side Weaver got the start. Weaver pitched 7 innings allowing 3 hits and 1 walk. He struck out 10 and picked up his second win of the year.

The offense got started in the first inning when Tommy Pham hit a RBI double that brought in Kolten Wong. Dexter Fowler followed with a sacrifice fly to push the lead to 2-0.

In the third inning Jedd Gyorko hit an infield single that brought in Wong. Greg Garcia scored on a throwing error to push the lead to 4-. In the 5th inning Fowler scored on a wild pitch and Cardinals held a 5-0 lead.

In the 8th inning Manuel Margot hit a RBI triple that brought in Matt Szczur to put the Padres on the board. Gyorko hit a RBI single in the 8th inning that pushed the lead to 6-1.

Cory Spangenberg hit a solo home run in the 9th inning and the Padres fell 6-2 .
