C.J. Cron Hits Home Run In 8th, Angels Win 3-2

ANAHEIM, Ca- C.J. Cron hit a solo home run in the bottom of the 8th inning to give the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim the 3-2 victory over the Houston Astros on Saturday night.
Hector Santiago got the start for the Halos. He pitched 7 innings allowing 5 hits and 2 runs. He struck out 3 and walked 2. He was awarded a no decision for his efforts.
On the other side it was Lance McCullers who started. He pitched just 5 innings allowing 7 hits and 2 runs. He struck out 1 batter and walked 2 and he was also awarded a no decision.
The Angels got on the board first in the 2nd inning. David Freese hit a RBI single that brought in Erick Aybar. Carlos Perez followed with a ground out to third that pushed Aybar across and the Angels led 2-0.
Carlos Correa got the Astros on the board in the 6th inning. Correa hit a solo shot to left field, his 18th of the season and the Astros cut into the lead 2-1.
Hank Conger hit a solo shot of his own in the 7th inning. It was his 11th of the season and the Astros tied the game at two apiece.
Cron was the hero of the game when he hit a homerun in the 8th inning. It was his 12th home run of the season and gave the Angels the 3-2 advantage.
Huston Street came on in the 9th inning and picked up his 35th save of the year.
The Angels and Astros will continue their series tomorrow afternoon at 12:35 p.m. PST
