C.J. Cron 2-Run Single Lifts Angels Over Rangers 4-1

C.J. Cron hit a big 2-run single in the 6th inning and the Los Angeles Angels beat the Texas Rangers 4-1 on Saturday night. Tonight marks the 3 win in a row for the Halos.
C.J. Wilson got the start for the Angels he pitched 5.2 innings allowing 7 hits and 1 run. He stuck out four and walked 3 but was awarded the no decision. Texas
For Texas Colby Lewis got the start. He only lasted 5 innings allowing 4 hits and 2 runs. He struck out 4 and walked 2. His record goes to 1-2 after the loss.
After 3 scoreless innings the Rangers got on the board first. Adrian Beltre scored on a wild pitch by Wilson. This gave the Rangers a 1-0 lead.
In the bottom of the 6th Albert Pujols hit a RBI single to center that brought in Grant Green. Kole Calhoun tried to score as well but was called out at home.
Cron followed with a 2-run single that brought in Pujols and Mike Trout. After 6 innings the Halos controlled a 3-1 lead.
In the 7th inning with the bases loaded Pujols was walked by Tanner Scheppers which brought in Green again and the Angels took the 4-1 lead.
Vinnie Pestano, Jose Alvarez, Mike Morin, and Fernando Salas contributed to hitless relief efforts.
Huston Street came on in the 9th and picked up his 7th save of the year. The Angels and Rangers will conclude their series tomorrow afternoon at 12:35 p.m. PST, with the Halos looking for the sweep!
