Broncos Defense Too Much For Chargers
- Updated: December 7, 2015
The Denver Broncos defense was too much for the San Diego Chargers as the Bolts fell 17-3 on Sunday afternoon. San Diego picked up their third win of the game last week and looked to build on that momentum.
Brock Osweiler continues to start for Denver as Peyton Manning is dealing with injuries. Denver who has the best defense in the league did not disappoint.
Osweiler got the offense started with a 3 yard touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas to give the Broncos a 7-0 lead. At the end of the quarter that Bronco defense came up big. Philip Rivers tried to throw a short pass to Antonio Gates that was intercepted by Danny Trevathan. Trevathan took it 25 yards for a pick 6 and the Broncos lead 14-0.
In the second quarter Brandon McManus hit a 23 yard field goal to push the lead to 17-0. For McManus he went 1/2 on field goals.
The Chargers scored their only points on a Josh Lambo 51 yard field goal. Neither team was able to score in the second half and the Bolts fell 17-3.
Rivers finished the game with 202 yards and 1 interception. Melvin Gordon had 12 carries for 55 yards. Gates caught 6 passes for 50 yards.
Denzel Perryman lead the way with 10 tackles. The Chargers will take on the Kansas City Chief at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday.
