Broncos Block FG, Beat Chargers 24-21

The Denver Broncos blocked a game tying field with a second remaining as the Los Angeles Chargers fell 24-21. The Bolts now sit a 0-1 on the season.

The offense got started in the first quarter when Trevor Siemian threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Bennie Fowler to put the Broncos on the board. After 1st quarter the Broncos led 7-0.

In the 2nd quarter Philip Rivers connected with Melvin Gordon for an 11 yard touchdown. Siemian responded with a 1-yard touchdown run that put the Broncos up 14-7 at halftime.

In the 3rd quarter Siemian hit Fowler for another touchdown. Brandon McManus hit a 20-yard field goal later in the quarter and heading into the 4th the Broncos held a 24-7 lead.

Rivers hit Keenan Allen with a 5-yard touchdown pass in the 4th quarter to trim the lead to 24-14. Rivers then hit Travis Benjamin for a 38-yard touchdown and the Chargers cut the lead to 24-21.

Shelby Harris got his hands on. Younghoe Koo field goal attempt that would have tied the game and the Broncos beat the Chargers 24-21.
