Brian Shaw Nearing Deal With Lakers

According to Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times, the Los Angeles Lakers are nearing a deal with former player and coach Brian Shaw to be the lead assistant for LA.
Brian Shaw and the Lakers are nearing a deal for him to become Luke Walton‘s lead assistant coach, according to several sources.

Turner reported further news on the deal.
Shaw had always been the coach Walton wanted on his staff. Shaw was an assistant when Walton won his 2 titles with the Lakers.

Reports surfaced a few days ago that Shaw as leaning towards being the lead assistant with Steve Kerr on his staff with the Golden State Warriors. With Shaw’s deep Laker ties it is not a big surprise that he has changed his mind to rejoin the Lakers.
Shaw won three championships as a player with Los Angeles with Shaquille O’neal and Kobe Bryant. He then won two titles as an assistant coach with Walton as a player at the time.
