Brewers Top Padres 3-1

The Milwaukee Brewers beat the San Diego Padres by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday night at Petco Park. For San Diego they have loss two in a row and four out of the last five.

For the Brewers Matt Garza got the start. He pitched six innings allowing four hits and one run. He also struck out three and walked one as he picked up the no decision.

On the other side Jhoulys Chacin got the start and had a strong outing. He pitched seven innings allowing two hits and one run. He also struck out eight batters and walked two as he picked up the no decision as well.

The offense got started in the first inning when Travis Shaw hit a RBI single that brought in Eric Sogard. This gave the Brewers an early 1-0 lead.

San Diego got the board in the sixth inning. Yangervis Solarte hit a RBI double that brought in Wil Myers and tied the score at 1-1.

In the ninth inning Milwaukee scored two runs to push the lead to 3-1. Jett Brandy hit an RBI single that brought in Shaw. Orlando Arcia followed up with a ground out that brought in Domingo Santana. Corey Knebel came on in the ninth and shut in down for his second save of the year.

San Diego will continue their series tonight. Zach Davies and Jarred Cosart are the projected starters.
