BREAKING: Lakers Get The Second Pick In The 2016 NBA Draft

Lakers

A few moments ago, the NBA just concluded the Draft Lottery process and the Los Angeles Lakers will have the second pick in the upcoming draft. The Philadelphia 76ers will get the first pick after they compiled the second-worst season in NBA history when they won only ten games. The Boston Celtics will have the third pick after they received this pick from the Brooklyn Nets.

Okay, Lakers fans who are they going to take with this pick? There are a few options that the Lakers could use to rebuild this franchise with. The top three players in this draft are as followed, Ben Simmons, (F) from LSU, Brandon Ingram, (F), Duke and Buddy Hield, (G), Oklahoma. According to several other sources, Jamal Murray from Kentucky and Kris Dunn from Providence College, both guards are also considered the best guards available in this years draft.

What do the Lakers need the most?

A small forward to replace Kobe Bryant, if the Sixers take Simmons at number one, then the choice is clear, Brandon Ingram, at number two.
Ingram is a great defender and has the skill set of Anthony Davis of the Pelicans, with a great wingspan of over seven feet, and he also has the ability to block shots. Another plus for him is the ability to isolate his man and score inside, this is something that the Lakers have been unable to do, with the current players on the roster. The biggest part of Ingram’s game is that he’s a great shooter and he can score from the perimeter and the Lakers do need more help with their three-point shooting. A combination of Julius Randle and Brandon Ingram should be a great fit for potential free agents to gel with this young core of players.

Another player that I would like to see in a Lakers uniform is Buddy Hield from Oklahoma. Hield is an outstanding versatile scorer that can shoot from the perimeter with ease. He has the ability to be explosive at any time, just remember what he did in this year’s NCAA Tournament. He could be the perfect addition to the Lakers backcourt with Jordan Clarkson and D’Angelo Russell.

The Lakers are going to have a few decisions to make in the next month. The team will also have major cap space to attract several free agents. With the rumors of Paul George and DeMar DeRozan, the rebuilding of this great franchise should be in full swing.
