Blue Jays Slam Angels, 11-10

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim were heartbroken in Toronto after two straight good quality wins, the team falls in the finale.
Steve Pearce‘s game-winning grand slam gives the Blue Jays an amazing 11-10 victory.

Toronto scored seven runs in the bottom of the ninth, this was the largest rally in team’s forty year history. Bud Norris (L,1-4) was the victim who gave up the grand slam to Pearce. The Angels bullpen surrendered all seven runs with only one out in the ninth.

Albert Pujols went 3 for 5 with two homers and four runs batted in for the only bright spot in the Angels offense.

NEXT UP FOR THE ANGELS:

Good news, the worst team in baseball will be heading to Anaheim. The Philadelphia Phillies will visit the Big “A” for a three-game set on Tuesday night. Aaron Nola (8-6, 3.17 ERA) will start for the Phillies. Ricky Nolasco (4-12, 5.07 ERA) will take the mound for the Halos (51-55). The loss drops the Angels back to third in the division, two games behind the Seattle Mariners, and eighteen games behind the Houston Astros. The Halos also find themselves five and a half games behind the Kansas City Royals for the final Wild-Card spot.
