Blazers Beat Lakers, Improve Playoff Chances

The Los Angeles Lakers (21-52) fell to Portland Trail Blazers (35-38) 97-81 on Sunday night. With the win the Blazers are now tied for the eight and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
Damian Lillard had 22 points, 5 assists, and 7 rebounds. C.J. McCollum added 13 points and Jusuf Nurkic added 9 points and 13 rebounds. Noah Vonleh chipped in 8 points and 14 rebounds, while Allen Crabbe and Al-Farouq Aminu scored 18 points and 9 points respectively.
D’Angelo Russell led the Lakers in scoring with 22 points. Ivica Zubac added 10 points and 7 rebounds, while Jordan Clarkson chipped in 10 points 6 assists and 7 rebounds. Tyler Ennis scored 14 points off the bench with 5 assists.
Los Angeles struggled shooting the ball from three going just 5/21. They also struggled from the free throw line, just 10/17 58%. Los Angeles has loss 7 of their last 8 games.
Portland dominated Los Angeles on the boards 61-42 including 12-1 on the offensive boards. Los Angeles will host John Wall and the Washington Wizards on Tuesday nights at the Staples Center at 7:30 p.m. PST.
