Avery Bradley Out For Regular Season
- Updated: March 13, 2018
Clippers guard Avery Bradley had surgery Tuesday to repair a sports hernia injury that has kept the 27-year-old sidelined since the All-Star break. The surgery will likely cause the former NBA first team all-defender to miss the remainder of the regular season.
Los Angeles Clippers guard Avery Bradley underwent surgery to repair adductor and rectus abdominis muscles on Tuesday and will miss the rest of the regular season, league sources tell ESPN. Six weeks to eight weeks is the recovery time on the surgery.

Bradley joined the Clippers in the Blake Griffin trade that took place January 29th. Bradley played in just 6 games for Los Angeles before sustaining the injury.
Bradley will have a chance to return for the Clippers if the team manages to make the playoffs as the surgery is expected to take him out for 6-8 weeks. Currently, the team is sitting in 7th place in the Western Conference but the bottom half of the conference is changing daily.
Bradley will be an unrestricted free agent after this season so he likely won’t decide to rush back from the injury before he is fully healthy. His injury hurts the depth of the team at the guard position and if he does manage to come back for the playoffs that would add a big boost to the Clippers perimeter defense.
