Hedges is a former second round pick of the Padres back in the 2011 MLB Draft. He has spent his entire career in the San Diego organization, making his major league debut in 2015.
Last season Hedges appeared in 56 games for the club and hit just .168. Still at just 22 years of age the future is bright for this prospect and Padres fans have great hopes for him.
With the injury the Padres will have to rely on Derek Norris more than ever.
