Austin Hedges To Miss Six To Eight Weeks

@NBCSports

According to AJ Cassell of MLB.com San Diego Padres catcher Austin Hedges will miss six to eight with a hamate fracture.

Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union Tribune also reported the news.

Hedges is a former second round pick of the Padres back in the 2011 MLB Draft. He has spent his entire career in the San Diego organization, making his major league debut in 2015.

Last season Hedges appeared in 56 games for the club and hit just .168. Still at just 22 years of age the future is bright for this prospect and Padres fans have great hopes for him.

With the injury the Padres will have to rely on Derek Norris more than ever.

As more information surfaces on Hedges and his injury progression we will keep you up to date.
