Are The Chargers and Philip Rivers Parting Ways?

After last week’s terrible game against the Kansas City Chiefs, the questions are now mounting over the Rivers and his stay with the Los Angeles Chargers.
Most of the sports reporters on several networks have said that this is the end of the Rivers era with the Chargers. Tyrod Taylor was brought in as the team’s backup quarterback and has played five games this season with only one pass attempt, one completion for seven yards.
The problem with Philip Rivers is not his arm and accuracy, he’s just not that mobile. Taylor can move and has the experience to make plays when under pressure. Maybe it’s time to make the move to Taylor and bench Rivers.
Rivers has 61 losses with fewer than one possession in his career. We all know that he’s not Tom Brady, but the Chargers have a hard decision to make for the future of the team. Rivers is in the final year of a four-year, 83 million dollar contract.
If the Chargers do decide to bench Rivers and play Taylor, is this a good fit? or is the quarterback of the future still in college. This shouldn’t have the same effect as the situation in New York with Eli Manning and Daniel Jones, but the Chargers have to do something to bring this team back to prominence.
Philip Rivers led the Chargers to the playoffs in 2018, but this team hasn’t made it to the AFC Championship game since 2008, a loss to the undefeated New England Patriots, and with a new stadium coming, they will have to share the limelight with the Los Angeles Rams a team that has something that the Chargers don’t have, a Super Bowl title on its resume.
