Antoine Vermette Suspended 10 Games

According to Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register Anaheim Ducks center Antoine Vermette has been suspended ten games for slashing an official.

Stephens reported further information.
Told that Vermette is going to appeal the suspension. Won’t comment on it, as is the Ducks, until process has been completed.

Curtis Zupke of the Los Angeles Times shared details as well.
This is the first suspension of Vermette’s 12-year career; it is not immediately known if he will appeal.

Vermette is a former second round pick of the Ottawa Senators in the 2000 NHL Draft. He has spent time with the Senators, Columbus Blue Jackets, Phoenix Coyotes, Chicago Blackhawks, and Ducks throughout his career.
Last season with the Coyotes in played in 76 games and recorded 38 points, 17 goals and 21 assists. Vermette is expected to appeal the ruling.
