Angels’ Woes Continue In Yet Another Loss On Friday
- Updated: June 25, 2016
The Angels lost their 5th consecutive game on Friday night, dropping a tough 7-4 decision to the A’s.
With the game tied 4-4 in the top of the 8th inning, Khris Davis went deep on a 3 run bomb to give Oakland the lead for good. Jered Weaver got roughed up a bit, allowing 4 runs over only 4.2 innings. Weaver’s ERA on the season is up to a brutal 5.24. Fernando Salas took the loss for LA, having allowed the 3 run blast to Davis.
The bulk of the Angels’ 4 runs came on a 2 run shot by Albert Pujols in the 1st, but it obviously came in a losing effort.
For Pujols it was his 573rd career home run. He is now tied with Harmon Killebrew for 11th on the all-time home run list.
LA sits at 31-43 on the season; 16 games back of Texas for 1st in the AL West. Not ideal. The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim will continue their series with the Oakland Athletics tonight.
