Angels Use Two Home Runs To Beat Mariners 4-3

SEATTLE, Wa- The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim used two home runs to beat the ever dangerous Felix Hernandez 4-3 on Tuesday night.

For the Halos Nick Tropeano got the start. He pitched 5 innings allowing 4 hits and 2 runs. He struck out 5 and walked 3 as he picked up his 2nd win of the season.

On the other side it was King Felix who got the start. He pitched 7 innings allowing 5 hits and 4 runs. He struck out 5 and walked 2 and was dealt his 9th loss of the year.

Nelson Cruz got Seattle on the board early when he hit a solo shot to center field. It was his 42nd home run of the year and gave Seattle a 1-0 lead.

David Murphy answered back with a home run of his own in the 3rd inning. His 3-run shot brought in David Freese and Carlos Perez and the Angels lead 3-1.

Franklin Gutierrez hit a RBI single in the 4th inning that brought in Seth Smith. This cut the Angels lead to 3-2.

Mike Trout put his stamp on the ball game with a solo home run to left center field. It was his 36th bomb of the year and pushed the Halos lead to 4-2.

Gutierrez was at it again in the 7th inning, this time with a solo home run. It was his 13th of the year and cut the lead to 4-3.

For the Angles Joe Smith came on in the 9th inning and struck out 3 to pick up his 3rd save of the year.

The Halos and Mariners will continue their series tonight at 7:10 p.m. PST. Jered Weaver will square off against Hisashi Iwakuma.
