Mike Trout Lands On The Disabled List

For the first time in his career, the reigning AL MVP Mike Trout will be heading to the disabled list.
The MRI confirmed that Trout’s left thumb has a torn ligament and surgery isn’t out of the question. The injury could extend to at least eight weeks. Trout will meet with the team doctor Steve Yoon to discuss the possible options.
With this is injury, the Angels have a huge hole to fill. The team has called up Eric Young Jr. from Triple-A Salt Lake City.
The Angels reported the news on their official Twitter account.
TROUT UPDATE: Mike Trout will have surgery on Wednesday to repair UCL in his left thumb. Typical timetable for return is 6 to 8 weeks.
