Angels Take Care Of Yankees 4-1

The Los Angeles Angels took care of business and beat the New York Yankees 4-1 on Monday night. Tonight’s win makes it 3 in a row for the Halos.
C.J. Wilson got the start for the Halos. He pitched 6 innings allowing 5 hits and 1 run. He struck out 5 and walked 3 as he picked up the win.
On the side it was C.C. Sabathia who got the start for the Yankees. He pitched 7.1 innings allowing 6 hits and 4 runs. He stuck out 5 and walked 1. He was awarded the loss.
The offense got started in the first inning for the Halos. Albert Pujols continued his hot month he hit a RBI double to right field that brought in Johnny Giavotella. This gave the Angels a 1-0 lead.
In the 3rd inning the Yankees scored their only run of the game. Alex Rodriguez hit a RBI single to right that brought in Didi Gregorius and the Yanks tied the game at 1-1.
Mike Trout hit his 20th home run of the season in the 3rd inning. His solo shot to center field gave the Angels a 2-1 advantage.
Kole Calhoun hit a RBI double in the 5th inning that brought in Daniel Robinson. C.J. Cron followed with a solo shot to left field in the 7th inning and the Angels held on to win 4-1.
Huston Street came on in the 9th inning and picked up the save. The Angels and Yankees will continue their series tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. PST

Pujols does so many smaller things besides HRs that many people miss, at the plate and in the field.

Albert is having a monster year on and off the field. I liked how he pretty put the locker room issue to bed when reporters asked about the issues. He’s a veteran leader that’s for sure

Ed Davis already signed with Portland for 3yrs/$20m. We wasted all that time trying to woo Aldridge, who was never a good fit with Randle on the team and also doesn’t want to play center. Should have set sights on DAJ from the very beginning, with Davis as the backup plan. So what are we going to do now? Re-sign Jordan Hill?
