- Updated: July 7, 2016
The Los Angeles Angels was very impressive in their win over the Tampa Bay Rays last night, 7-2. After the Angels built an enormous lead which the Rays had no answer for. The team looked good in all phases, in this contest.
After the Angels built a healthy six-run lead, Mike Trout concluded the scoring with a moon-shot that was lifted to
left-center field, for his eighteenth of the season. Jared Weaver (W,7-7), even his record on the season as he pitched well. Weaver completed six strong innings, with the only blemish, the Logan Forsythe homer.
Kole Calhoun was simply stellar in this game. He contributed with his bat as well as with his glove. A bases-loaded walk scored Jett Brandy started the scoring for the LA in the third inning. Calhoun gunned down former Angel, Hank Conger, at second base when he tried to stretch a single into a double.
HALO’S DUGOUT:
JC Ramirez, Jhoulys Chacin, and Cam Bedrosian all pitched an inning a piece and did a great job. Chacin was the only one of the three to allow the Rays to score, but none the less, a great way to help Weaver earn this win.
