Angels Stay Hot, Beat Seattle 3-2

ANAHEIM, Ca- The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim continued their hot streak as they beat the Seattle Mariners on Sunday afternoon, pushing their winning streak to 5 in a row.

For the Halos Jered Weaver got the start. He pitched 5 innings allowing 4 hits and 1 run. He struck out 3 and and walked 0 and was awarded a no decision for his efforts.

On the other side Hisashi Iwakuma got the start. He pitched 7.1 strong innings allowing 8 hits and 3 runs. He struck 1 and picked up his 5th loss of the season.

The offense got started in the 4th inning for the Mariners. Jesus Montero hit a RBI single to left field that brought in Nelson Cruz and Seattle lead 1-0.

The Angels answered back in the bottom half of the inning. David Murphy hit a RBI single to center that brought in Mike Trout and the Halos tied the game at 1-1.

In the 5th inning David Freese broke the tie with a solo home run to right field. It was his 13th of the year and gave the Angels a 2-1 lead.

Mark Trumbo hit a solo shot of his own in the 8th inning to tie the game again. His bomb was to center field and was his 22nd of the year.

Kole Calhoun was the hero in this game though. He hit a RBI single to right that brought in Taylor Featherston to score and gave the Angels the lead late.

Mike Morin came on in the 9th inning and shut the club down for his first save of the year. The Angels and Athletics will square off tonight in Anaheim. Felix Doubront and Hector Santiago are the probable starters.
