Angels Slam Oakland, 8-1

The Los Angeles Angels come up with a big seven-run fourth inning, as the beat the Oakland A’s, 8-1.
Jefry Marte provided the big hit in the bottom of the fourth inning. Marte hit his first career grand slam as the Angels jumped out to an 8-0 advantage, and never looked back. Right-hander Ricky Nolasco (W,8-14) managed to hold the A’s to only one run in eight innings of work. Nolasco has now improved to 4-2 since coming over from the Minnesota Twins, in early August.
Superstar Mike Trout drove in his 99th run of the season and his 495th for his career. The Angels have now improved to 7-3 in the past ten games.
HALO’s DUGOUT:
Albert Pujols did not play in this game due to Plantar Fasciitis (foot soreness) as he will be evaluated and is listed as Day to Day.
ANGELS ON DECK:
The two teams will conclude their series tomorrow, in the last meeting of the season between the two teams. The Angels will send Alex Meyer (1-3, 5.94 ERA) to the mound. Sonny Gray
(5-11, 5.74 ERA) returns to the mound for Oakland. The Halos (71-87) currently, hold the edge over Oakland (67-90) in the American League West for fourth place in the division.
