Calhoun is a former 8th round pick of the Angels back in the 2010 MLB Draft. Calhoun has spent his entire four year career with the Halos.
Last season he played in 159 games and hit .256 to go along with 26 home runs. He also received his first Gold Glove of his career as well.
With the Calhoun and Mike Trout in the outfield the defense should be set for next season. The Angels were in the running to sign some other star outfielders to play with Trout.
At the end of the day the Halos didn’t want to spend the money necessary to acquire another power bat.
