Angels Push Winning Streak To 7

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim continued their winning streak Wednesday night beating the Minnesota Twins 5-2. This marks the 7th win in a row for the Halos.

For the Halos C.J. Wilson got the start. He pitched 5 innings allowing 6 hits and 2 runs. He struck out 5 and walked 2. He picked up his 8th win of the season.

On the other side it was Mike Pelfrey who got the start. He pitched 6 innings allowing 9 hits and 4 runs only 2 of them earned. He struck out 1 and walked 1 as he picked up his 5th loss of the year.

The Halos struck first in the 2nd inning. Chris Iannetta hit his 7th home run of the year to left center. This gave the Halos the early 1-0 lead.

The Twins answered back in the 3rd inning. Brain Dozier hit a 2-run single that brought in Aaron Hicks and Danny Santana and the Twins lead 2-1.

Kole Calhoun hit a RBI single in the bottom of the 3rd that brought in Daniel Robinson and tied the game at 2-2. Mike Trout followed by grounding into a double play but Johnny Giavotella scored and the Angels took the 3-2 advantage.

Calhoun added a RBI single in the 5th inning to push the Halos lead to 4-2. Albert Pujols hit a RBI double in the 7th to give the Halos a 5-2 lead.

Huston Street came on in the 9th inning to pick up his 25th save of the year and 300th of his career. He is the 27th closer in MLB history to reach the 300 club.

The Angels and Twins will continue their series today at 12:35 p.m. PST
