Angels Pitcher Tyler Skaggs Passes Away At 27
- Updated: July 2, 2019
For the second time in less than a year, the Los Angeles Angels are mourning the loss of another player. On Monday night as the team was set to play their game against Rangers in Texas before receiving some very tragic news.
Tyler Skaggs, 27 one of their young stars, passed away in his hotel room in Southlake Texas, (a suburb of Dallas). From several reports, there were no signs of suicide or foul play as the investigation of his death is still in progress.
Last Saturday was his final game for the Angels, Skaggs took the loss in a 4-0 defeat against the Oakland A’s. Skaggs made his major league debut as a starter for Arizona as he picked up the win over the Miami Marlins.
The Angels lost Jose Valbuena this past December in a car accident in Venezuela. Ten years ago, the team was devastated with the passing of Nick Adenhart when he was killed in a car accident by a drunk driver.
The game between the Rangers and Angels was postponed and no makeup date has been announced.
