Angels Name Bill Stoneman Interim GM

According to Ken Rosenthal of the FOX Sports the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have named Bill Stoneman the interim general manager.
Per @Alden_Gonzalez, Bill Stoneman will be #Angels’ interim GM. Stoneman, a senior advisor with club, was team’s GM from 1999 to 2007.

Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times also reported the news.
Can confirm, per source, that Bill Stoneman will be named interim GM for #Angels. Was GM from 2000-2007, been adviser ever since.

Stoneman originally hire Angels manager Mike Scioscia according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today.

Although Stoneman played a huge role in building the Angels championship team he isn’t known for deadline deals according to DiGiovanna.
Fair to say that #Angels interim GM Bill Stoneman has not had a long and storied history when it comes to making trade deadline deals.
