Angels Lose To Rangers, 4-1

Angels

A two-run blast in the bottom of the sixth inning sinks the Angels in Arlington last night 4-1.

The Los Angeles Angels suffered another close defeat and this time, the offense failed to give them the help they needed to win this game. After the Texas Rangers scored in the fourth inning, the Angels bats were silenced. The failure to get runners in scoring position into score was one of the problems in this game. The Angels were 0-7, with runners that could have made a tremendous difference in this game.

Halo’s starter Jhoulys Chacin had one of his better starts. In his last outing, he only managed to pitch only 4-1/3 as he picked up the win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Chacin (L,0-1), went six innings, allowing five hits, he giving up three earned runs, while striking out four, with the big two-run homer in the sixth inning.

The team scored their only run on a groundout by Albert Pujols, who drove Kole Calhoun in from third base. For Pujols, this was his 31st run driven in for the season, this is tied for the lead on the team.

HALOS DUGOUT:

We have to give Cam “Rock” Bedrosian and Jose Alvarez a lot of credit, for their performance out of the bullpen. Combined, they struck out three and Bedrosian gave up the insurance run in the bottom of the eight, but the bullpen looked impressive in the loss.

ANGELS ON DECK:

The two teams will conclude their series today in Arlington, with the Angels (21-25), trying to get back to an even record. Hector Santiago (3-2,3.93 ERA), will take the mound to face Colby Lewis (3-0,2.75 ERA), of the Rangers. the Angels are currently sitting in third place in the American League West, five games behind Texas and six and a half games behind the current leaders, the Seattle Mariners.
