Angels lose in Trout’s return 2-1 to Rays

The second half of the season for the Los Angeles Angels starts with a 2-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays.

Mike Trout returned to the Angels lineup last night and went 1 for 5, with a stolen base. Albert Pujols hit a solo-shot home run to dead centerfield, for the Halos only run of the game.

Ricky Nolasco started for the Halos and pitched well, completing seven full innings, striking out six, allowing one run on an Evan Longoria homer in the top of the first inning.

Cam Bedrosian (L,2-1), took the loss in the top of the 10th inning when Brad Miller‘s double scored Wilson Ramos for the winning run for the Rays.

NEXT UP FOR THE ANGELS:

The two teams will meet in the second game of the series tonight. Rays starter Alex Cobb (7-6, 3.75 ERA) will be on the mound for Tampa. J.C. Ramirez (8-7, 4.46 ERA) will take the hill for the Halos.
