Angels Lose In Extra’s To Twins, 3-2
- Updated: April 18, 2016
A game that just was out of the reach of left-fielder Rafael Ortega‘s grasp, sends the Minnesota Twins fans home happy, as they beat our Los Angeles Angels, 3-2.
The Minnesota Twins came into this series at 0-9 on the season, they now have won three straight after a weekend three-game sweep of the Angels. Seldom used Outfielder Oswaldo Arcia‘s single down the left field line, that scored Byron Buxton for the game winner for the Twins.
Nick Tropeano started this one for the Halo’s and pitched well, only giving up one run on five hits, while striking out three. The bullpen was struggled once again. Greg Mahle, Mike Morin and Jose Alverez came out of the pen and gave the team a lift, but Joe Smith (B,1), and Cory Rasmus (L,0-1), both proved to be ineffective in today’s game.
Albert Pujols drove in the only Angels runs, in the top of the first inning, on a shot to left field, that scored Mike Trout. The team also struggled with men in scoring position, going 0-4 and also leaving six runners on base, in the game.
ANGELS DUGOUT:
Albert Pujols hit his first homer today, and this was his 561st of his career, this one moves him closer to 13th place on the all-time home-run list. He’s now two homers behind former Angel Reggie Jackson, who slugged 563 in his Hall Of Fame career. Good Luck Albert! Keep climbing up the list.
HALO’s ON DECK:
The Angels (5-7) are heading to the Windy City, to start a four-game series with the Chicago White Sox.
