Gentry is a former 10th round pick of the 2006 MLB draft to the Texas Rangers. He has spent time with the Rangers and Oakland Athletics through his 7 year career.
Last year he appeared in just 26 games hitting .120 with a .196 OBP in the majors. The Angels have been looking at different outfield options to pair with Mike Trout.
The club has been linked to Jason Heyward and Justin Upton. Gentry will most likely be a backup and a safety deposit if someone is to get injured.
