Angels Hire Brad Ausmus As Special Assistant To GM

According to Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have hired Brad Ausmus as the special assistant to the general manager.
The #Angels are expected to announce the hiring of Brad Ausmus as a special assistant to the GM. Ausmus had been fired as Tigers manager in September.

Bud Black did the same job for the Angels when he was between managing jobs in 2016.

Ausmus spent 18 years in the league as a player with the San Diego Padres, Detroit Tigers, Houston Astros, and the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was an All-Star and a three-time Gold Glove winner. He became the Tigers manager in 2014 taking over for Jim Leyland.
