The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim were shut out by the Seattle Mariners 5-0 on Saturday. After the balls were flying out of the yard for the Halos last night tonight was certainly not the case.

C.J. Wilson had a quality start for the Halos. He pitched 6.2 innings allowing 5 hits and 3 runs. He struck out 5 and walked 4 as well. He ended up throwing 109 pitches, 69 for strikes.

On the other side Hisashi Iwakuma got the start.  He lasted 8 innings of scoreless ball allowing 3 hits while striking out 6 and walking 2. He threw 101 pitches, 73 for strikes.

Jesus Montero got the offense started in the second inning when he drew a walk that brought in Nelson Cruz. Brad Miller followed with a sacrifice fly that brought in Kyle Seager and after 2 innings the M’s lead 2-0.

In the 3rd inning Mark Trumbo hit a RBI single to center field that brought in Cruz and pushed the M’s lead to 3.

Trumbo was at it again in the 7th inning with another RBi single and Logan Morrison followed with a RBI infield single and the M’s held on to win 5-0.

The Angels and M’s will conclude their series tomorrow afternoon. Andrew Heaney and Taijuan Walker will face off against each other.
