Angels Fall To Yanks 3-1

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim failed to produce runs and fell to the New York Yankees 3-1 on Wednesday night. The Angels did win the series 2-1 amidst all of the drama with the resignation Jerry Dipoto.
For the Angels Matt Shoemaker got the start. He pitched 5.2 innings allowing 7 hits and 2 runs. He did strike out 3 and walk 1 as he picked up his 7th loss of the season.
On the other side Nathan Eovaldi got the start. He pitched 5.1 innings allowing 5 hits and 3 runs. He walked 3 as he picked up his 8th win of the season.
The offense got started in the 3rd inning when Chase Headley hit a RBI single to right field that brought in Didi Gregorius. This gave the Yankees a 1-0 lead after 3 innings.
In the 6th inning Garrett Jones hit a solo shot to right field. This was his 5th of the season and increased the Yankees lead to 2-0.
The Yankees were able to push 1 more across in the 8th inning when Gregorius hit a RBI single to center that brought in Brian McCann. With the score 3-0 the Angels headed into the bottom of the 8th with some work to do.
Mike Trout provided the only run of the game for the Angels when he hit 21st home run of the year a solo that cut the lead to 3-1. That would be all as the Angels were unable to score and loss 3-1.
The Angels will have tomorrow off before they head to Texas to take on the Rangers on Friday night.
