Angels Drop Game To M’s 3-1

SEATTLE, Wa- Jesus Montero hit a big 3-run home run on Wednesday night and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim fell to the Seattle Mariners 3-1.

For the Halos Jered Weaver got the start. He pitched 4.2 innings allowing 6 hits and 3 runs. He also struck out 3 and walked 1. He was ejected after hitting Kyle Seager. Weaver picked up hos 11th loss of the season.

On the other hand Hisashi Iwakuma got the start. He pitched 6 innings allowing 4 hits and 1 run. He stuck out 9 and picked up his 8th win of the year.

Montero’s home run came in the 4th inning. It was a 3-run shot to left center that brought in Nelson Cruz and Seth Smith. It was his 4th homer of the year and gave the M’s a 3-0 lead.

David Murphy got the Angels on the board with a solo blast the 6th inning. It was his 10th of the year and cut the lead to 3-1.

For the M’s Tom Wilhelmsen came on in the 9th inning and recorded his 11th save of the year.

The Halos will travel to Minnesota to begin their series with the Twins tonight. First pitch is scheduled for 5:10 p.m. PST where Hector Santiago and Tommy Milone will face off against each other.
