Cowgill was a fifth round of the Arizona Diamondbacks back in the 2008 MLB draft. He has spent time with the Diamondbacks, Oakland Athletics, and New York Mets before spending the last three years with the Angels.
Last season he appeared in 55 games with the club. He hit .188 with a .233 OBP to go along with 1 home run. With the Angels looking to upgrade in the outfield Cowgill was the odd man out.
Rumors have circulated that the Angels are interested in Justin Upton or Jason Heyward. As more information surfaces on the Angels and their offseason moves will keep you up to date.
