Angels Cool Off Shutout By Twins 3-0

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim rode into today’s game with sky-high confidence but the Twins put the Angels 7 game winning streak to halut 3-0. It only took one home run by Trevor Plouffe lift the Twins over the Halos.
Garrett Richards got the start for the Halos. He pitched 8 innings allowing 4 hits and 3 runs. He struck out 5 and walked 3. It was one mistake pitch that doomed him as he picked up his 7th loss of the season.
On the other hand Ervin Santana got the start. He pitched 8 innings allowing 4 hits and 0 runs. He struck out 7 and picked up his 2nd win of the year.
The only offense of the game came in the 4th inning. Trevor Plouffe hit his 13th home run of the year to left center field. It was a 3-run shot that brought in Joe Mauer and Miguel Sano with 2 outs that gave the Twins the victory.
Glen Perkins came on in the 9th for Twins and picked up his 29th win of the year.
The Angels will play host to Josh Hamilton and the Texas Rangers tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. PST
