A.J. Achter is a former 46th round pick in the 2010 MLB Draft to the Minnesota Twins. He has spent the last two years with the Twins.
Last year in the majors he appeared in 11 games posting a 6.75 ERA. He pitched 13.1 innings and posting a 0-1 record. Achter will likely start the season in the minors next year.
The Angels may be looking to beef up their farm system so they can make a move later on to acquire some more talent before the season starts.
Los Angeles has been looking at some outfield help as well but many believe that search is over as of now. Last season the Halos just missed the playoffs and have hired former Yankees assistant general manager Billy Eppler as their new gm.
He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the club and Angels fans are hoping he brings the same kind of success he had in New York to Los Angeles.
The Angels have made a couple deals to help bolster their infield. Spring Training will be a great time to see all of those pieces fit together.
Welcome to the Halo family A.J. Achter.
