Angels Call Up Andrew Heaney

According to Alex Curry of FOX Sports the Los Angeles Angels have called up pitching prospect Andrew Heaney from Triple-A Salt Lake and is expected to start against the Houston Astros this afternoon.

Heaney is a left handed pitcher who was acquired in the Howie Kendrick trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers. According to Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times Heaney hasn’t performed too well in the month of June.

Alden Gonalez of MLB.com reported that the news of Heaney being moved up means that Matt Shoemaker‘s start will be pushed back most likely.
