Angels Blank Rangers, Win 7-0

ANAHEIM, Ca.- The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim allowed just 2 hits to the Texas Rangers as they cruised to a 7-0 victory on Sunday afternoon.

For the Halos Hector Santiago got the start. He pitched 6 innings allowing 0 runs and 1 hit. He struck out 3 and walked 6 as he picked up his 8th win of the season.

On the other side Colby Lewis got the start for the Rangers. He lasted just 5 innings allowing 10 hits and 7 runs, 6 of them earned. He walked 3 and struck out 5 while he picked up his 8th loss of the year.

Mike Trout got the offense started in the 1st inning for the Halos. He hit a solo home run to right field that ended his home run drought. It was his 34 bomb of the year and gave the Halos a 1-0 lead.

In the 2nd inning Erick Aybar was able to score off a wild pitch. Taylor Featherston followed with a RBI single to left field that brought in David Freese. Trout continued the offense with a sacrifice fly to center that brought in Carlos Perez and the Halos held a 4-0 advantage.

The Angels pushed another run across in the 4th inning and a Featherston RBI double in the 6th pushed the lead to 6-0.

Albert Pujols hit a sacrifice fly to left in the 6th inning as well and the Angels went on to beat the Rangers 7-0.

The Angels will take on the Los Angeles Dodgers today at 6:05 p.m. PST.
