Angels Beat Rangers In Extra Innings

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim scored 2 runs in the 9th inning to force extras and beat the Texas Rangers 7-4 on Saturday night. For Anaheim they have won 4 out of their last 5 games.
Ricky Nolasco got the start. He pitched 5.2 innings allowing 5 hits and 3 runs. He walked 3 and struck out 6 as he picked up the no decision.
On the other side A.J. Griffin got the start. He pitched 5.2 innings allowing 4 hits and 2 runs. He walked 3 and struck out 6 as he picked up the no decision.
The offense got started in 1st inning when Elvis Andrew reached on a fielder’s choice that brought in Delino Deshields. Carlos Gomez hit a solo home run in the 2nd inning to push the Rangers lead to 2-0.
In the 4th inning Albert Pujols hit a RBI single that brought in Mike Trout. Joey Gallo followed with a RBI single that brought in Gomez in the bottom of the 4th to push the lead to 3-1.
Pujols hit another RBI single that brought in Trout and trimmed the lead to 3-2 in the 6th inning. Nomar Mazara reached on a fielder’s choice that brought Robinson Chirinos in and the Rangers lead 4-2.
In the 9th inning C.J. Cron hit a 2-run shot that brought in Luis Valbuena and tie the game at 4-4. In the 10th inning Kole Calhoun hit a 2-run single that brought in Trout and Justin Upton. Cron followed with a sacrifice fly that brought in Cliff Pennington and the Angels went on to win 7-4.
