Angels Beat Milwaukee 7-3

A four run eight inning was the difference, as the Los Angeles Angels beat the Milwaukee Brewers, 7-3. This was needed, the team was looking at a three-game sweep against a team that wasn’t really setting the league on fire.

Have a day at the plate Mike Trout! The superstar homered, tripled and drove-in two runs, as the team snapped a two-game losing streak. Then team erased a one-run deficit to take control of the this game.

Fernando Salas (W,2-1), picked up the win in relief, on only one inning of work. Joe Smith (S,2) got his second save of the season, while starter Hector Santiago went 5.1/3 innings, for a no-decision.

HALOS DUGOUT:

Mike Trout has 22 RBI’s on the season, which is tied for second in the American League. He’s tied with former Angel Mark Trumbo and is three behind Robinson Cano of the Seattle Mariners.

ANGELS ON DECK:

The team will have the day off on Thursday, and will head back to Anaheim for a three-game weekend series with the Tampa Bay Rays. The series pitching match-ups are as followed, Garrett Richards (1-3, 2.34 ERA) will be on the hill, facing Chris Archer (1-4, 5.01 ERA). Jered Weaver, will take on Jake Odorizzi in game two. The final game of the series will feature Nick Tropeano verses Matt Moore.

Los Angeles (13-15), gained a game on the leaders in the American League West, the Seattle Mariners. The team is still in third place in the division, three and a half games behind.
