Angels Avoid Arbitration With Garrett Richards

According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have avoided arbitration with SP Garrett Richards.
Garrett Richards signs one year, $7.3 million contract with #Angels but there’s a hitch: the contract is not guaranteed.

Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register also reported the news.

Richards is a former first round pick of the in the 2009 MLB draft. He has spent his entire seven year career with the Angels but has dealt with injuries over the last two years that has only pitched in 12 total games.
In 2015, the last time he was healthy he posted a 15-12 record with a 3.56 ERA. He threw for a career high 207 innings that season and struck out 176 batters.
Anaheim is hoping Richards can stay heathly this season.
