According to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have agreed to a 6.85 million dollar deal to avoid arbitration with right handed pitcher Garrett Richards.

Pedro Moura of the Los Angeles Times also reported the news.

Richards shared his excitement for the deal on his official Twitter account.

Richards is a former first round pick of the Angels back in the 2009 MLB draft. He has spent his entire six year career with the club.

In 2015 Richards posted a 15-12 record with a 3.65 ERA. He pitched 207 innings and struck out a 176 batters. Last season Richards dealt with injuries last season that limited him to just six games.
