Andrew Heaney To Undergo Tommy John Surgery

According to Pedro Moura of the Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim pitcher Andrew Heaney will undergo Tommy John surgery today.
The Angels announced LHP Andrew Heaney will undergo Tommy John. His last stem-cell checkup Monday showed no healing. Likely out until 2018.

Injuries have not been kind to the Halos this season. With injuries to the rotation as well as the field the Angels are struggling to keep pace in the AL West.
Heaney opted to try some stem-cell treatment after sustaining the injury. After weeks of treatment he came to the conclusion that the only way to get healthy was to undergo Tommy John that will most likely keep him out until 2018.
