Andrelton Simmons To Begin Rehab Assignment

According to Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim shortstop Andrelton Simmons will begin his rehab assignment today.
#Angels Mike Scioscia said Andrelton Simmons will likely begin rehab assignment tomorrow at Class-A. Could be active next weekend.

Alden Gonazlez of MLB.com also reported the news.
Andrelton Simmons is ahead of schedule. He will begin a rehab assignment for Inland Empire tomorrow, could rejoin Angels this weekend.

Pedro Moura of the Los Angeles Times also reported the news.
Andrelton Simmons is on track to start Monday for Class-A Inland Empire. He could join the Angels at home vs. Cleveland next weekend.

Simmons underwent surgery on his thumb about a month ago and looks to be coming back sooner rather than later. With the Angels battling injuries all over the place they are looking forward to the return of healthy bodies.
Anaheim will take on the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium tonight at 4:05pm PST
