Anaheim Ducks Fall In Overtime 3-2

The Anaheim Ducks continued their road trip when they took on the New York Rangers on Tuesday night. Anaheim was coming off a tough loss to the Islanders 5-2 on Monday night. 

Corey Perry got on the board first for the Ducks. He scored a snap shot goal that was assisted by Rickard Rakell and Anaheim held a 1-0 lead.

A few minutes later the Rangers answered back. Derick Brassard scored a wrist shot goal that was unassisted. This tied the game at 1-1 after the first period.

The second period saw no goals from either side. It was even on both sides as each team took five shots on goal. Early in the third period Brassard scored another wrist shot goal. His goal was assisted by Mats Zuccarello and the Rangers took the lead at 2-1.

Late in the period Rakell scored a snap shot goal to tie the score. Ryan Getzlaf and Cam Fowler assisted the goal and the Ducks were able to force overtime and at least get one point out of their New York adventures.

In overtime Zuccarello scored a wrist shot goal to end the game. His goal was assisted by Dan Boyle and Brassard and the Rangers won 3-2.

John Gibson was in goal for the Ducks tonight. He made 19 saves for a .864 save percentage. Henrik Lundqvist was n goal for the Rangers. He made 17 saves on 19 shots.

Up next for Anaheim is the Philadelphia Flyers at home on Sunday night.
