Alex Wood Struggles In Homecoming, Dodgers Fall 8-1

Alex Wood struggled in his return back to the team that drafted him and the Los Angeles Dodgers fell 8-1 on Tuesday night.
Wood pitched 4 innings allowing 7 hits to go along with 6 run, 3 earned while only striking out 1 batter. He was awarded with is his second loss of the season.
On the other side Williams Perez got the start on short days rest. He only lasted 3.1 innings, allowing 2 hits while striking out one and walking 3. He was awarded a no decision for his performance.
Atlanta got on the the board first in the bottom of the first inning. Jeff Francoeur hit a sacrifice fly that brought in Daniel Castro. Tyler Flowers followed with a RBI single and after the first inning the Braves held a 2-0 advantage.
In the third inning Flowers was at it again with a RBI single. Mallex Smith followed with a walk with the bases loaded and the Braves held a 4-0 advantage after three innings.
Francoeur hit a RBI single that brought in Freddie Freeman in the fourth inning. Flower reached base on a infield single that brought in Adonis Garcia and the Braves were up 6-0.
In the 5th inning the Dodgers finally got the board when Corey Seager grounded out to first but brought in Joc Pederson.
Smith hit a RBI double in the 7th inning that pushed the lead to 8-1 and the Dodgers fell to the Braves in game one of the series.
Los Angeles will continue their series with the Braves at 4:10 p.m. PST tonight.
