Adrian Kempe Scores Shootout Winner To Lift Kings

Adrian Kempe scored a beautiful shootout goal to lift the Los Angeles Kings 3-2 over the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night. Los Angeles now sits a 7-1-1 on the season.
The offense got started fast and early for the Kings when Alec Martinez scored a slap shot goal that was assisted by Kempe to give the Kings the early 1-0 lead. Ottawa answered back a few minutes later when Dion Phaneuf scored a slap shot goal that was assisted by Mike Hoffman and Jean-Gabriel Pageau and after the first period, the game was tied at 1-1.
In the 3rd period, Nate Thompson scored the go-ahead goal for the Senators. His backhanded goal was assisted by Tom Pyatt and the club held a 2-1 advantage. Kempe scored a wrist shot goal with less than two minutes remaining in the game to tie it and force overtime.
After their winning goal in overtime, Micheal Cammalleri scored a goal in the shootout and Kempe capped it off with the winner. Below is Kempe’s goal.

Darcy Kuemper was in goal for the Kings. He made 28 saves. Los Angeles will take on the Montreal Canadiens on the road on Thursday nights.
