As of yesterday, the huge UFO (original) looking stadium design has been ruled out. So, it is good news for those who took to social media to discuss their dislike.
According to a report written by the Los Angeles Times, both teams, San Diego Chargers and the Raiders, have reached an agreement to completely “overhaul.” Apparently, the original design and pictures were created with only input from San Diego, not the Raiders.
The lead designer on the job says they are attempting a more “sleek” look.
“We wanted the building to be iconic and sleek, like a luxury sports car. Ver aerodynamic, in motion, flowing lines from every angle.”
But wait, that’s not all! The new stadium will be shooting lightning bolts, because why not, right? A 120-foot-tower will be the source of these bolts of joy, and they will fire every time the Chargers score.
Raiders fans, don’t feel left out though! The 120-foot tower will also be a fiery cauldron to honor former Raiders owner, Al Davis.
As we know, the potential stadium did take a huge step forward earlier this week. We shouldn’t get too excited though, the process could be a long one. It is, however, a process that could begin as early as May, and once the design is approved, it can be reviewed by 30 other owners.
