Adrian Gonzalez Drives In 3, Dodgers Win 6-3

Adrian Gonzalez continued his hot start to the year with 3 RBI’s tonight and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Colorado Rockies 6-3. With the win the Dodgers improved to 8-3 on the year.
Zack Greinke got the start for the boys in blue. He pitched 6.2 innings allowing 5 hits and 3 runs while striking out 3. He picked up his 2nd win of the year.
On the other side Jordan Lyles got the start for the Rockies. He pitched 6 innings allowing 5 hits and 4 runs and struck out 5. He also walked 5 batters and was credited with his first loss of the season.
It was the Rockies who were first to get on the board. Troy Tulowitzki hit a RBI single to centerfield that score Charlie Blackmon. This gave the Rockies the early 1-0 advantage.
In the 2nd inning Yasmani Grandal hit an RBI single that scored Howie Kendrick to tie the game up at 1 apiece. Adrian Gonzalez reached on a fielder’s choice that allowed Greinke to score and the Dodgers took a 2-1 lead.
In the 5th inning Gonzalez was at it again with when he singled to left that drove in Joc Pederson and Jimmy Rollins. That pushed the Dodgers lead to 4-1.
In the 7th inning it was DJ LeMahieu who hit a 2-run blast to left center and brought in Nolan Arenado. This cut the Dodgers lead down to 4-3.
Yasel Puig hit a RBI double in the bottom half of the inning that brought home Rollins. Kendrick followed with a RBI double of his own that brought home Puig and gave the Dodgers the 6-3 victory.
Joel Peralta came on in the 9th and recorded his 3rd save of the year. These two teams will continue their series tomorrow afternoon at 1:10 p.m. PST.
