Clayton Kershaw Strikes Out 12 Dodgers Win 7-3

Clayton Kershaw struck out 12 and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Colorado Rockies 7-3 tonight. The Dodgers bats have been hot and they used that along with Kershaw’s strong performance to get the win.
Kershaw pitched 6 innings allowing 6 hits, and 1 earned run to go along with 12 strikeouts. Tonight’s win was Kershaw’s first of 2015 and the fifth in a row for the True Blue squad.
For the Rockies Kyle Kendrick got the start. He pitched 4.2 innings and allowed 7 hits and 6 runs while striking out 6. He also did walk 4 in the outing and was credited with the loss. He falls to 1-2 on the year.
The Dodgers offense stuck first in the 1st inning. Adrian Gonzalez hit a double to center field that scored Jimmy Rollins to give the them the early 1-0 lead. Howie Kendrick followed with a two run bomb to left center that brought in Gonzalez and increased the lead to 3-0.
In the 4th inning Troy Tulowitzki hit a solo shot to let that put the Rockies on the board.
Yasmani Grandal scored in the bottom half of the fourth off of a wild pitch.
Charlie Blackmon hit a two run homer in the 5th inning that brought in Drew Stubbs and cut the Dodgers lead to 4-3. In the bottom of the inning Gonzalez hit a another RBI double that brought home Carl Crawford, and Kendrick followed with one of his own to bring in Gonzalez. After 5 inning the Dodgers lead 6-3.
Andre Ethier hit a sacrifice fly in the 7th to bring Gonzalez and the Dodgers beat the Rockies 7-3.
Paco Rodriguez and Yimi Garcia pitched scoreless inning out of the pen for the Dodgers. Adam Liberatore came on in the 9th inning and mad his major league debut striking out the last batter of the night.
The Dodgers will continue their series with the Rockies tomorrow night.
